Classics for All’s first grant for schools in Norfolk has won huge support from local parents. Organiser, Jane Maguire, says teachers involved in the project, which includes seven primary schools and a senior school in North Walsham, have made involving parents a high priority.


Sixth formers keen to show off their knowledge of Latin and Classical Civilisation can now enter the 2012 International Cicero Competition which will take place next March. The competition, which takes the form of a written exam, is held simultaneously at nominated centres around the world.

Students and teachers from Bristol University’s Classics department have raised £880 for Classics for All by running in the annual Bristol Half Marathon in September 2011. The team were particularly inspired to run last year as it marked the 2.500 year anniversary of the legendary first marathon in 400 BC.
